How painful is it after the operation?
The operation is done under anaesthesia, so you will feel no pain. During the first few days of recovery, you may experience some slight tightness or tension, which is easily relieved under medical supervision.
How long does the recovery take?
Most patients return to daily activities after two weeks. Scars and the final shape take about six to twelve months to develop.
Will the scar remain visible?
The notch runs along the inside of the arm, so it is basically in a covered area. The scar fades over time and is almost imperceptible after a year in most patients.
When can you start playing sport or lifting again?
Light exercise is recommended after two to three weeks, with full physical exertion requiring six weeks. Gradual loading of the arm is important to allow the tissues to regenerate properly.
